The Aprilia eSR1 is one of the most affordable electric scooters from Aprilia, a renowned Italian brand in the electric mobility sector. Going into details, this is a scooter with an unmistakably sporty design and DNA, but oriented towards the entry-level range. Its offer revolves around a 350W motor and a 281Wh removable battery that deliver a speed of 25 kilometers per hour and a range of 25KM, respectively. In addition, it consists of 10-inch tires and a large LED screen.
On the other hand, if you were looking for something more powerful, faster and capable of moving through difficult terrain, perhaps the BEZIOR S2 PRO with its dual 1200W motors offers what you need.
A design with sports DNA
Without a doubt, the Aprilia eSR1 is an electric scooter that will not leave anyone indifferent, that sporty black look with red and gray accents will surely attract the attention of more than one. Also, its aggressive design is not just there to brag, as the chassis is made from a magnesium alloy that gives it impact resistance and lightness, weighing no more than 15.5 kilograms . As if that were not enough, the handling of the wiring is another success, since they barely protrude from the chassis or the tube.
Naturally, the eSR1 exhibits a folding design that helps us to store and carry the scooter in hand, something very convenient that cannot be missing in any self-respecting electric scooter. However, this is not the only convenient detail that we will see in this product; the battery keeps an ace up its sleeve.
Changing the subject a bit, the scooter rides on 10-inch tubeless tires . These wheels are tubeless and therefore more resistant to punctures than the average. In addition, they guarantee good traction and stability even on uneven roads.
We also have to praise the comprehensive lighting system on board this scooter. Going into details, it has both a front LED headlight and rear brake lights, so it has everything you need to drive at night with as much serenity as possible.
Finally, we must highlight the presence of a large 3.5″ LED screen in the center of the handlebar. Naturally, from it we can view in detail the battery charge, current travel speed, the selected mode, the distance traveled, the status of the lights and other data. Next to the screen is an on/off button.
Engine and features
The Aprilia eSR1 is powered by a 350W motor with a peak power of 515W , which gives the scooter the ability to travel at a maximum speed of 25 kilometers per hour and climb slopes with an incline of 22 degrees. In addition, the structure is capable of carrying a maximum load of 100 kilograms.
Having said that, it is a performance totally in line with the road laws in Europe for this type of vehicle, so it will not be necessary to homologate it or anything like that. Additionally, it supports 3 modes that impact scrolling speed; these are Eco (6km/h), standard (20km/h) and Sport (25KM/h). Similarly, we understand that it is possible to remove the speed limits to go beyond 25km/h, something that we obviously discourage, but that speaks positively about the level of power that this scooter offers.
In another vein, the scooter has mechanical disc brakes on the rear wheel , while the front wheel has regenerative braking, thus helping to preserve battery power when stopping.
Unlike the Aprilia eSR2, we can’t say it’s equipped with suspension, which is a shame, but something we could see coming given the price tag. What we cannot easily ignore is the fact that it is not compatible with the manufacturer’s mobile application either, something that is present in the eSR2.
Despite these details, the Aprilia eSR1 is established as an excellent option for urban commuting within its respective price range, which should be added is quite affordable (approximately 500 euros).
Autonomy
The Aprilia eSR1 is powered by a removable 36V/7.8Ah battery, which theoretically provides rides of up to 25 kilometers at best . As always, the actual figure depends on many factors, mainly speed, driver weight, temperature and road conditions.
The range of electric travel passes without pain or glory, but the consolation is that, having a removable battery design (which requires a key), it makes the process of recharging and replacing it easy, as well as enabling the option of taking a spare battery with us to continue using the scooter, or at least that is what the manufacturer recommends. Finally, the recharge time is about 4 hours.
PROS:
- Excellent design with sporty aesthetics
- Battery with removable design
- Complete lighting system
- Light
CONS:
- has no cushioning
- No mobile app support
- mediocre autonomy
