MediaTek has introduced a new mobile processor – Dimensity 9200 Plus. This is an updated version of the flagship SoC Dimensity 9200, released this year. According to Taiwanese developers, their new processor will be a worthy competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 model.
The Dimensity 9200 Plus is the same chipset as its predecessor, but with increased CPU and GPU clock speeds. The CPU features a large Cortex-X3 core running at 3.35GHz (previously 3.05GHz), medium-sized Cortex-A715 cores running at 3GHz (previously 2.85GHz), and small Cortex-A510 cores running at changed – 1.8 GHz. By comparison, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is capable of running at 3.36GHz.
Speaking of the GPU, MediaTek did not specify its operating frequencies, limiting itself to stating that the GPU in the 9200 Plus is 17% faster than in the 9200. Otherwise, it is still the same Mali-G715 Immortalis MC11 GPU as before, with hardware ray tracing.
Additional features include an X80 modem that supports mmWave 5G (downlink 7.9 Gb / s), the sixth generation APU with support for refresh rates up to 240 Hz and FHD + resolution, as well as the ability to record 8K. Declared support for Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 7.
