The British company Rega introduced the fourth generation of the Elex integrated amplifier , equipped with a built-in DAC unit, a moving magnet (MM) phono stage and a headphone amplifier. The previous version of the Elex-R amplifier was introduced eight years ago, and the model update has become more than relevant.
The novelty is even stylistically more harmonious with the current line of the company. In addition, the amplifier circuitry has been improved and a DAC-R DAC block has been added, capable of processing PCM digital streams with parameters up to 24 bit / 192 kHz, coming through a coaxial or optical input.
The Rega Elex Mk4 output stages operate in class AB and provide 72 watts per channel when driven into an 8 ohm load and 90 watts into a 6 ohm load. The switching arsenal includes four linear unbalanced analog inputs on RCA connectors, a phono input and two digital inputs – optical and galvanically isolated coaxial. There are also two analog outputs here – a linear one for recording and an output from a preamplifier. On the front panel there is a 6.3 mm jack socket for connecting headphones.
In the UK, the Rega Elex Mk4 integrated amplifier is already on sale for £ 1,199 .
