Getting the first information about the next flagship Sony headphones from unofficial sources has become a good tradition, and this time the leaks published on TheWalkmanBlog touched on the future WF-1000XM5. Soon this data was supplemented with images presented on WinFuture.
Moreover, the authors, commenting on unofficial information, revealed another tradition: the future novelty turned out to be “almost identical to the current model.” In any case, battery life seems to be unchanged. On the other hand, the weight of the headphones is a little less than 6 g, and the case is a little less than 40 g. So, if the total set has become lighter by a slight 2 g, then each earbud has lost almost one and a half grams compared to the WF-1000X4 – this is significant.

Another advantage is in compactness, which means, if you do not forget about the mass, then in the comfort of wearing. But the shiny plastic, apparently, was inherited from the WF-1000XM4. Hoping it won’t pick up fingerprints, leakers note that the touch control area is matte.
In addition, the leak seemed to confirm that the Sony WF-1000X5 headphones support multipoint communication and wireless charging. Complete ear tips, apparently, will be inherited from the predecessor model. The timing of the announcement, and even more so the start of sales of the novelty, is not yet known, as well as the price. It remains to remember once again that everything else, apparently, differs from the WF-1000X4 not so much.
